Comments from ParalympicsGB archer Victoria Kingstone following this morning’s session.
Victoria Kingstone
Result: Lost in women’s W1 quarter-final to South Korea’s Okgeum Kim 128-122
Age: 43
Hometown: Camberley
On the match:
“It’s really hard when you’re trading points and the third end where I had a couple of blues that really put me behind. But I’ve really enjoyed the experience and it’s always good to compete against people when it is that close.”
On making the quarter-finals:
“I’m surprised more than anything. Everyone wants to go home with a medal but to come out here and putting everything we’ve done in training and in practice into an event is all you can ask for.”
On being a Paralympian:
“I’m not sure that it’s sunk in yet. You spend so many years with the support of everyone around you, coaches, family and people who have bought lottery tickets to enable us to do the sport in the first place, it’s such a lot of work. This is really the culmination of all of that and hopefully I’ve done everyone proud.”
