Tim Jeffery
Result: finished 10th in R4 mixed 10m air rifle standing SH2 qualifying, 0.1 points off a spot in the final
Age: 28
Hometown: Newbury
“I’ve had better days at the office. It’s one of those days. It was hard all the way through, there’s not much you can do about it. There was some really good bits, some bits that didn’t go the way they can. It’s unfortunate but there’s lots of good stuff in there and two events left to come. They are my stronger events. Outside the final by 0.1 is a bitter pill to swallow but some days it just be that way.
“Overall, there were consistent bits throughout that weren’t quite up to scratch. I know I can do better than that so it is irritating but some days it isn’t meant to be. It will be nice to go and chat with my family and have some friendly faces around but I was focused on what I needed to do and kept my mind there.”
Ryan Cockbill
Result: finished 18th in R4 mixed 10m air rifle standing SH2 qualifying
Age: 34
Hometown: Walsall
“It wasn’t quite the result I was hoping for but it was a challenging shoot. I was struggling to keep my position as solid as normal. When shots were going well it was good but there were some where it was a struggle to keep the rifle still and that resulted in the score being a bit lower than I was hoping for.
“A few days ago I fell ill so I was a little bit off compared to normal. We find these times a bit challenging but hopefully in the next few days I’ll be fit and raring to go ahead of the next couple of events. The training has all gone to plan so it was a little disappointing to find today was a struggle. If I can find the form from my training it’ll go pretty well.”
